Tranquility…

Just the other night, it rained.  Sounds ordinary enough, but when you live in a high desert with the mountains catching most of the moisture headed east, it doesn’t rain very often.  Now, I do love the abundant sunshine that beckons me outside to play most days, but there is something so incredibly peaceful and soothing about falling asleep to the music of raindrops pattering on the windows.  I find this particularly true when late autumn rains seem to whisper to me, “Slow down. Winter’s coming. Sleep deep. Rest. Spring will be here soon enough.”

 Be glad, people of Zion,

Rejoice in the Lord your God,

For he has given you the autumn rains

Because he is faithful.

Joel 2:23 NIV

The rain comes when the wind calls.
