Seashore Calm

The sea put a finger of foam on its lips of wavers.

Saying “Shh!” saying “Hush!”

I that was vexed and unquiet,

Heard, and was soothed.

James Oppenheim

I will not worry and will think only good things. When anxious, uneasy, and bad thoughts come, I go to the sea, and the sea drowns them out with its great wide sounds, cleansed me with its noise and imposes a rhythm upon everything in me that is bewildered and confused. And much is so.

Rainer Maria Rilke
