Mountaintop Experiences!

Several years ago, I was hiking a trail that went by several stunning mountain lakes, then ascended an extremely high mountain pass.  On the way up, I was overwhelmed by the beautiful lakes.  It’s so easy to see God’s hand in the beautiful world that he has created. When you look around at the towering, majestic peaks to the joyful tumbling creeks to tiny little flowers thriving in small cracks in rocks, you see miracles upon miracles. Then to come to a pass where the world is spread below you in every direction, with mountains and valleys and trees.  How can one not rejoice and want to tell everyone about the incredible beauty of nature reflecting God’s love!

Likewise, in the early church, the apostles were given power by God to perform miracles in Jesus name.  Amazing miracles of healing that astounded so many.  Their joy in sharing God’s love, reflected by healing miracles and the truth of the Gospel, propelled them to share the good news.  This mountaintop joy is a lovely aspect of our faith that causes us to praise God as we share with others.  May we celebrate moments that the Lord has given us so that we may witness of His love to others.
