Fleeting beauty…
In an entire year, there are literally only a few minutes to witness the beauty of a frozen frost-rimmed begonia flower. Before sunrise, it’s too dark; after the sun rises, the flower quickly wilts. At the perfect moment, though, one can see the first-frost-of-the-year wonder of delicate brightly colored petals edged in white with deep green leaves dotted with frost. It’s a visual delight and pure magic to gently touch the frozen blossom.
Life is busy, isn’t it? Life can feel overwhelming with family, work, and daily tasks. Sometimes, we miss special moments because we are so busy with responsibilities and obligations. How many times do we miss out the extraordinary in the ordinary? Some of the most memorable times in life are small significant ones made when we stop and remember to live in the moment, to capture images with not only our eyes, but our hearts. These are the moments that you will look back on and cherish as the years slip away.
So, when you are busily rushing around to handle the tyranny of the everyday urgent, and one of those moments presents itself, stop and let your heart experience the magic of pure wonder and joy. Perhaps it is your little one gleefully entreating you to come see the first snow of the year through the window. Maybe you pause to pet your pup when he looks up at you with adoring eyes as you head out the door. Possibly, it’s taking your spouse’s hand and pulling them out into a warm summer evening to share a sunset. Whatever it is, savor your moment of fleeting beauty!
